WOW was this a great book! I love supernatural urban fantasy, like my books set in Seattle. This book is set in Glasgow. I felt completely immersed immediately. The action was instantly gripping! So many twists and turns! And unlike so many suspense books, the character development and world-building is clean and on point. As this was the “origin” story for the series, it did feel a little heavy-handed. But very easy to read and provocative. I also like how the development of magic was realistic and took its time getting built. Altogether a great magical story of humans and supernatural communities together. A very enjoyable action-packed adventure!
